she looks like summer, but feels like winter
all the things contagious lay within her
crimes disguised as passion, hunger howls at the moon
she sings pain so beautifully, though out of tune
and i too lazy with hopes of singing along
but paralyzed with fear that she may get bored
waves of wonder allow me to think
only so much before i begin to sink
deeper and deeper into the unknown
here i breathe only to suffocate alone
with or without you i will grow
with or without you it’s a truth i have known
but your eyes tell me something different
than your words could ever mean
even with my eyes wide open i continue to dream
so silently scream as i see your lips tremble
as you finally allow yourself to remember
moments that will stand the test of time
you may try to rewrite history
but it will never leave your mind
and i lay confined, compromised
itching for another fix, i’m way outta line
